Mi vida nueva

I swear the days here are longer, at least by five hours, maybe six. We've been doing a lot, yet we haven't been doing much at all. Emma and I go to school everyday, or go to whatever ISA activity we have, and then we usually come home and watch Mexican television.

And I must admit, Mexican television is pretty terrible. They play a lot of American movies here, but they are usually the movies that you might have seen in theaters once, but then never heard of again. The other day I saw a preview for Simone, remember Simone? Hopefully you don't. It was not worth remembering.

They also love to play old music videos. The other morning they played Smashmouth's "Walkin on the sun," and "Weird Science." Classic.

Other than watching Mexican television, we've had a nice last couple of days.

Last night, we went to the cutest little bar called Mandarin. Everything was orange, and people kept coming around to take our picture.. a little weird, but it was fun. Some paparazzi character also took a picture of Emma and I on our walk to school yesterday. I think they thought Emma was Lindsay Lohan.

Oh... and I was ID'd at Mandarin. In MEXICO, where the drinking age is 18. Lordy lordy..

Today, we went to Xico, a little town about 30 minutes away from Xalapa on a class field trip. Xico is apparently famous for their mole, which is the weirdest thing ever. It's some sort of a dip that is a combination of chocolate and chilli, with a few other things added in there.. I had more mole today than I will probably ever have again. It was defintely not my favorite.

Tomorrow we're going to the beach in Villa Rica! Hope it doesn't rain!
